To get to Pemba fly to Johannesburg, South Africa, connect to a flight to Maputo, Mozambique. From Maputo there are daily flight to Pemba that take approximately 3hours.
Zemun employs more than 50 Mozambiquens and contributes to the development of their skills through training programs in carpentry, farming and construction. Pemba has no food farms of its own and imports high priced necessities from abroad. It is Zemuns vision to develop farms that will be able to support the local communities food needs and more importantly to develop the skills of the local people and pass on the knowledge of farming so that the people of Pemba can be self reliant and grow their own crops.
The potential for successful farming is high in Pemba and its is the long term vision of Zemun to see this potential be realized. This will not only increase the livelihoods of the local people and improve their nutrition, It will support increased tourism and lower the cost of living and operating costs of resorts and resturants in Pemba. It will also reduce the variance in supply of vegetables and other necessities through a constant supply.
